Course No. 101N

4 1/2 days -- 3.6CEU's -- Copyright 2007

LMJ International has been selected as the course provider for Nuclear Regulatory Commission Quality Assurance Program Inspection Personnel (August, 2007).

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

NRC QA Program Inspection personnel; building, construction, and engineering contractors, and/or equipment and materials suppliers currently responsible for the implementation, maintenance and audit of the NRC Quality Assurance Program requirements within 10CFR Part 50 Appendix B.

COURSE PURPOSE:

This course is designed for those concerned with assuring product, process, and program conformance to requirements by conducting effective, performance-based audits of the quality system and improved performance. Experience has proven these techniques extremely useful for engineering, production, procurement, environmental, health, and safety management personnel and all those responsible for implementation of the quality assurance program and requirements.

The latest, state-of-the-art methodologies, practices, and techniques for audits/assessments are presented and discussed in detail to internal, on-site and contractor/supplier facility QA operations.

COURSE CURRICULUM:

The world-recognized "what and how" of actual on-the-scene audits of systems as designed and developed by Mr. L. Marvin Johnson, world pioneer in the Quality Audit.

Presentations will cover an extensive overview and interpretation of the 10CFR Part 50 Appendix B Quality Assurance Program requirements, including a comparison to NQA-1: 1994 through NQA-1: 2008 requirements. Additional quality requirements within the operating license will also be discussed, as well as the integration of these requirements within appropriate audit protocol.

Specially designed course exercises and case studies will follow the QA Program at crucial points in the flow of materials through a manufacturing/processing/storage facility. Management, design engineering, procurement, receiving and receiving storage, fabrication, special processes nonconforming material, document control, records management, environmental management, storage and shipping are studied in detail.

Through our group exercises, findings, concerns, and observations are analyzed, documented, reported, and communicated to appropriate management personnel, including the follow-up actions to assure effective corrective/preventive/improvement actions are taken and that they are determined to be effective for close-out.

Over 2500 Nuclear Quality Assurance Auditors and Lead Auditors have been qualified through this program since 1970!
